Still on my quest to relax and
catch up with watching as much movies as I can. I just watched 50 First Dates
today annnd--- I Loved it! I can’t believe I just watched this today. It’s now
officially one of my all-time romantic comedy movies of all time. :D

The plot revolves around playboy
and commitment-phobic Henry Roth who meets this interesting girl named Lucy
Whitmore (Drew Barrymore) at a café in Hawaii. They actually hit it off at the café
as they find out a lot about each other over cottage waffles; all seems pretty
cool but it’s not. Turns out Lucy has short term memory loss because of a car
accident—her mind is wiped clean every day. It’s now Henry’s job to remind Lucy
and get her to fall in love with him again every day. Awww. <3

Besides the plot itself which already
has an awww-factor, I loved the setting of Hawaii—it made the movie have a cozy
beach theme. I also loved the animals: the walrus and the penguins were
extremely adorable and hilarious! :) The
Beachboys CD is a nice touch and just the fact that a former commitment phobe
now spends every moment of his waking day just to get her to fall in love with
him, wow, that thought is overwhelming. It’s also a scary for Lucy who has to wake up
every day unaware of her surroundings, but good thing that Henry is there for
her, ever patient (even if there’s a chance of rejection). WOW, what a catch—does
that person even exist? I hope he does.

Romance, comedy, drama,
beach/Hawaii/relaxed theme—I love the balance of it all in this film. Also, can’t
forget that I liked the soundtrack of this movie especially: Somewhere over the
Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, Wouldn’t It be Nice by the Beach Boys, “Every
Breath You Take” by Sting and “True”
(remix) by Will. I. am and Fergie. Something new for my Playlist. :)
For those who haven’t watched this:
what are you waiting for? Watch it, watch it!
