Banchetto at Sucat!

I love food trips and the very idea of them. I’ve always heard of Banchetto but haven’t gone even if they’ve existed since 2007; it can be blamed to my busy schedule and the fact that I don’t know how to get to Ortigas at that time of night.

To those who don’t know, Banchetto is a haven for foodies who love food trips. It is the first outdoor weekend night market which offers affordable food with a variety of food choices. They used to be located at Meralco Ave at Ortigas to cater to the late night call center agents who have food cravings.
One day, I finally decide to go to Banchetto for a food trip. I went to their Facebook page and lo and behold, they updated their status saying they have a second location operating on Saturday nights. In Shopwise, Sucat, Paranaque! What good news to everyone from the South!

Their facebook page says they open at 5:00 pm, so I went around 7-ish which is considered early. When I got there, there were only a few people since it was still considered early. As the night wore on, more people came.

I don’t know if the original Banchetto (Robinsons Forum) is as big as the one in Sucat since they only had a few stalls, but I might have to check it out to be sure. Nevertheless, the food they offered was great and affordable! For that night, I decide to try out grilled liempo with rice priced at Php75; the fresh out of the grill liempo was juicy and flavorful and perfect with the java rice.

takoyaki is awesome!
I had 3 pieces of takoyaki at Php 35; it was nice and hot the way I like it with real shrimp and squid bits!
Next, I had mango juiceat Php 30 which quenched my thirst. Lastly, I bought chocoladise (chocolate) crepe priced at Php60—the perfect dessert to cap off my night! I was really full and satisfied and it only cost me exactly Php 200!

flavorful offerings

I’m really glad that Banchetto has a location in the South. It might even become my Saturday night habit since the food is really delicious and affordable. I look forward to trying their kebab sandwiches and pasta with steak next time. For those in the South, this is must-place visit if you’re into food trips and having a great time. It opens at 5pm and lasts till the morning.
